For readers who don't yet know you, who are you Susanna? What gets you up every morning and why?
I'm a positive woman, passionate about music and in love with life in general. It's my love of life as a whole, my admiration for nature and, last but not least, my unconditional passion for music that motivates me every day.
I'm a musician, a pianist at heart but also a composer of classical music and for the cinema, hence my specific attraction to soundtracks.
Music is much more than a passion for me, it's a way of living and expressing myself. I've always been fascinated by the power of music to touch hearts, tell stories and transcend words.
As a composer (I prefer the masculine form because it sounds more harmonious than the feminine), I create classical works and soundtracks for the cinema. Each composition is a unique adventure. For classical music, I often draw my inspiration from the beauty of nature and universal human emotions. Frédéric Chopin is the source of my inspiration on the piano, and Ennio Morricone, John Williams and Joe Hisaishi for film, but I'll come back to that later.
Ultimately, my aim is to capture the soul of a scene or story, and offer the audience an emotional journey, whether through a concert or a projection on the big screen. It's a job that demands a lot of creativity and discipline, consistency and passion! But it's also incredibly rewarding, because music has this magical ability to connect people and offer them moments of escape and reflection.

What are the words that best define
your artistic work?
PASSION, EVASION, FORCE, ROMANTISM, PUDEUR, SINGULARITY, MAGIC, SOFTNESS, MELANCOLY, RYTHM, ELEGANCE, PURITY and CAMALEON (for my ability to juggle a range of different musical styles)

How far do you think music can take us?
How far does it take you?
I think music has the power to take you very far, I'd say there are no limits except those of your imagination. For me, music is my essence, my DNA, my refuge.
Let's not forget that music is also a vibration, a powerful energy, a frequency that has the gift of healing, and it's no coincidence that music therapy is becoming increasingly widespread in the treatment of certain illnesses such as autism. A wonderful world of sound that takes you beyond material boundaries to communicate with others, but also to establish a real dialogue with our own cells and our being in all its complexity.

You seem to have a passion for film music. Why is that? What does cinema mean to you?
Indeed, I've loved cinema ever since I was a child - Claude Lelouch, Pedro Almodovar, Olivier Marchal, François Truffaut, Charlie Chaplin (to whom I paid tribute with a musical composition entitled “Rainy Day”), Steven Spielberg, Sydney Pollack, Clint Eastwood, Tim Burton and David Lynch, who recently passed away, to name but a few. Ennio Morricone lulled my childhood sonority, notably with the films “Cinema Paradiso”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, “Mission” or John Williams with “Indiana Johns” and more recently Joe Hisaishi, a great Japanese composer.
For me, cinema represents an extraordinary way of expressing emotions and telling a story. Cinema is an exciting process as a composer, and also a challenge, because it's all about visually translating the story and feelings of a film into a sound experience.

If your life was written like a score, which would you be: rock, pop, classical, other?
Please justify your answer.
Ah, good question! But I can't define myself with just one style, because I have many facets not only of my personality as a woman, but also as an artist!
I love classical music for its purity, technique, timelessness and immortality. My piano reference is without doubt CHOPIN. I learned to play the piano from Chopin, and the melancholy tinged with romanticism from “Frédéric”, in other words, by learning more about the man he was than just one of the most influential composers of the Romantic era. I think this melancholy character can be found in some of the melodies in my solo piano repertoire, such as “Tristesse”, “Lettre à mon père” and “Nocturne”, which have inspired a number of contemporary writers.
But I'm also very pop and rock! (listen to STYLE, VOGUE, NEW YORK) from my repertoire, or WARRIOR, HIGHLAND LEGEND, SLEEPING BEAUTY, which are more cinema-oriented.
In short, I'm an enigma (laughs) because I don't fit into any particular category, I'm “out of the box” as the Anglo-Saxons say. That's probably my uniqueness and my signature, because I play several scores at once, depending on my emotions at the time and the events that mark and punctuate my life. I'm sometimes CLASSIC, sometimes ROCK, POP or CINEMA. I suggest you browse through my musical oeuvre, which currently numbers over one hundred and twenty compositions, to form your own opinion.
An American screenwriter who takes a close interest in my work recently told me that I'm one of the few female composers to tackle so many different musical styles.
In fact, music speaks to me and I try to translate with my notes what it whispers in my ear. I compose with my soul, with my guts, without following a particular trend or fashion; I compose by instinct. I'm authentic, with my own style that evolves but retains the same depth as on day one. My wish is to deliver beauty and emotion through my art to as many of you as possible. Each composition is a part of myself that I offer to my audience.

Escape, forgetfulness, sharing, creation, emotion, passion, beauty, love, spectacle, living - what place do you give to these words in your compositions? What's the word that sticks closest to your skin?
All the words you mention have a place in my compositions, but I retain the words PASSION and LOVE which resonate with me and are, in my opinion, the driving force behind EVERYTHING in life! Whether you're a gardener, a baker, a writer, a sculptor, an actor or a composer, it's PASSION, followed by determination, that will push you to break your limits and shine! It's this determination and pronounced passion that guides me in my creative work.

When an author puts words to one of your compositions, what do you get out of it?
First of all, I'm touched to awaken his interest and curiosity, and at the same time I feel honored that an author is inspired by my art. That he draws his own inspiration from my music to write his story, his poem, perhaps fragments of his novel. In the end, it's a subtle connection between two artists who sometimes meet halfway. When the author meets the composer and the magic happens, they join hands to often tell the same story. It's an absolutely wonderful, delicious and unique moment of sharing. I receive it as a gift, the artistic imprint of which will remain after our passage on earth.

What are your artistic projects for the coming year? Which project is the most expensive, and why?
I don't make distinctions, because they're like “children”, each with its own grace, particularity and purpose. I approach them in chronological order, taking care with every aspect. However, I would like to point out that I am currently working on a documentary for which the rights have been sold to Netflix. For me, this is not only an honor, but also an opportunity to make myself better known and gain recognition for my body of work. However, I find satisfaction in all my projects because I choose them and don't spare myself! I always strive to give the best of myself in each of my artistic adventures, remaining true to my values.

At the very beginning of the year, you launched a weekly radio show with “Studio F”. Can you tell us more about this radio show, its content and your guests?
Yes, of course! In fact, STUDIO F was born of a reflection and an observation I made 5 years ago. I noticed that after the pandemic, many French people moved to Marbella, where I spend most of my time. Added to this are Belgian, Swiss and Canadian residents. It's a fast-growing population. As I took a closer look at the market, I realized that there was no “voice” to represent this segment of the population and promote French culture in this region of Spain.
So my agent approached Radio TV de Marbella, who agreed to give me a weekly slot. So on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, I kicked off my new French-language radio program STUDIO F on Radio TV Marbella 107.6 FM and Streaming A Note every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
The STUDIO F chronicle is dynamic and eclectic, both in its choice of themes (music, culture, literature, cinema, fashion, art, science and gastronomy) and in the quality of its guests, with one interview per month. In my show, I tackle several subjects and invite personalities from these different sectors to enrich and vary the program. Of course, the musical side of the show is also very present, with a selection of French-language variety music from the past and the present.

What are your first feedbacks on «Studio F»?
It is a little early to say because I have just started this program, but I can already tell you that I am being listened to in Spain but also in France, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Canada and even in California through Streaming. I enjoy doing this show every week and it probably feels like a live show. Let the audience decide!

You celebrate this year your ten years of career and the release of your twelfth/ 12th album, what inspires you your journey and what do you think you should achieve after all this production? What could please you as an artist and as a woman?
First of all, I feel privileged to be able to do what I love. The artist’s life is not just a glitter world, there is a lot of work and sacrifice behind it. But as I am passionate, time does not count or if precisely, it counts so much that I have appointments daily with music! I would also say that I am proud of my career because I am partly self-taught, although I must thank my piano teacher but also Christopher Young, great American composer with whom I took lessons and who encouraged me to continue in my early days.
Also I feel happy about my journey because despite the health problems that I had to face several times, I always fought and got up thanks to music!
I think that my life path, my resilience and my wisdom acquired throughout this journey have allowed me today to shape the artist I became but also to perfect the woman I am now.
"NEVER GIVE UP" could be one of the slogans that characterizes me well or even "LIFE IS A GIFT" which is also the title of my very first album and that of my production company. As an artist, what could fulfill me today would be to be able to sign the soundtrack of a Spanish film. Indeed, cinema in Spain has evolved a lot in recent years and places it at the top of the bill, neck and neck with French cinema that I also love. As a woman, I already feel fulfilled by life because I focus on what it offers me above all, that is, a lot of love, fertile creativity, a balance between personal and public life and above all the health that accompanies me, to pursue my dreams. Much later, I hope to die composing the notes of my final score on my piano with a smile on my lips and stars in my eyes summarizing all my happy moments!
We live every day and we only die once...
