From the heart
in the veins of emergence!

From the press conference held on February 18, I'd like to retain what led me to cover the event, but I should say “Those”.

At the previous edition's press conference, the same ills were already very much in evidence: lack of subsidies, absence of support from the relevant ministries and increasing difficulty in ensuring the show's organization and sustainability. But the strength of the show itself, what keeps it going, lies elsewhere, and too bad for the politicians in charge of culture and art in the land of enlightenment. The venue itself and everything in it bring you back to the essential:

Art is will.
Art is freedom.
Art is creativity.
Art is singularity.
Art is diversity.

But to take it a step further, as you stroll the aisles of this magnificent Parisian building, beyond the works on display, there are valiant hearts at work: those of the volunteers and artists. They do their utmost to ensure that when the doors open to the public, all the works have been hung, and that the show is a grand affair. And it is!

Art Capital, in the words of Daniel Gallais, founding member of Art Capital and current Chairman, is a hotbed of artists, and as a result, Art Capital is a gigantic breeding ground for emerging artists, in which all techniques and trends are represented. I agree with him on these points and on the intrinsic qualities that also make Art Capital :

A great human adventure on an international scale.

A few words exchanged with Valérie Durand (painter), Yves Apeloig (volunteer), the companion of Catherine Sénéchal (who presents Bysance), Laurent Léoncini (photographer, author) and Florence Muliardo (visual artist) illustrate the dynamic desire to be seen and to share her art with as many people as possible. Dominique Meunier (Artist, Painter), suffering from lumbago, tells me that her daughter has come to help her hang her work.
That's what Art Capital is all about: people, willpower and mutual aid, all in good spirits.

What's certainly missing is a marketing force and greater resources to give this event all the visibility it deserves and make it an even bigger success. France, via its government, distributes aid all over the world. Art delivers emotions and should not be forgotten by those who govern us.

The entire Terhoma Magazine team would like to thank the organizers, the press office and all those involved in this magnificent event for the warm welcome we received.

If I may add one last word, I sincerely believe that this event proves to us all that art, talent and uniqueness cannot do without the emergence of new talent. Art Capital brings together talents and techniques, and helps introduce new artists to the national and international scene. Art Capital also brings out the differences in each other, but only for the better.

Last but not least, a new youthfulness is needed to launch a new dynamic and ensure a long life for this event. Art Capital must combine its past and present to ensure, with the help of new technologies, art schools, emerging artists and businesses, a more serene future.
